What does Lokalo cost?

Nothing at all. Lokalo is completely free. Browsing, searching, listing, giving away and the chat don't cost you a cent.

Not to look around. Browsing, searching and the giveaway board are open to everyone. You only need a free account once you want to message someone, publish a listing or upload photos. That takes 30 seconds.

Which region is Lokalo for?

Lokalo is made for Luxembourg and the whole Greater Region. Technically the app works everywhere in Luxembourg, France, Germany and Belgium. We're starting here at home and growing step by step.

Can I search near me?

Yes! Choose your location, set the radius and switch between list and map. That's how you find what's right around the corner from you.

How do I get in touch with a seller?

Every listing has a button for it. You then message each other safely in the Lokalo chat, without ever giving out your phone number or email.

Do I get notified when someone messages me?

Yes, if you like, by email as soon as someone writes to you (at most every 15 minutes, so it doesn't get annoying). You can turn it off at any time.

Can I save listings?

Of course. Tap the heart at the top right of the listing and it lands on your favourites list. As a guest it stays on your device, and as soon as you log in it automatically moves into your account and comes along everywhere.

How do I change or delete my listing?

In your “My listings” area you can edit, pause, mark as sold or delete any listing. Any time, with one tap.

How do I give something away?

On the giveaway board you can pass on things you no longer need, for free, to someone who'll be glad of them, instead of throwing them out. You post the item, interested people get in touch, and you reserve it in the chat for one person. You simply arrange the meeting point with each other.

What may not be listed?

Lokalo should stay clean and safe. Forbidden are, for example, weapons, counterfeit goods and anything illegal. Live animals aren't allowed for now either, because it's about living beings and not quick deals. Do you see something forbidden? Please report it to us. We follow up on every report and keep the platform clean with all our might.

Can I pause or delete my account?

Yes, any time. You can pause it for 14 days (everything is hidden and comes back when you log in) or delete it for good. On deletion, your personal data is removed.

Yes! In the menu, tap “Install app”. Lokalo then sits like a real app on your home screen, with no app store needed.

Yes. Under “Events” you'll see what's happening in Luxembourg: concerts, festivals and markets, with a map, date and radius filter.

The map shows your region at a glance: listings nearby, but also useful places like playgrounds, charging stations or sights. “Mäin Duerf” additionally shows everything around your own commune.

Yes, under “Bus & train” you'll see the next departures from your stop and can plan a connection from A to B, no separate app needed.

Buyer and seller settle payment themselves, right there on the spot, easiest in cash. Lokalo handles no money, so there's no “buyer protection” like on the big shipping platforms. Your protection is the handover in person.

A badge means: we've checked this profile in person (for example a business). That way you can see at a glance who you're dealing with.
